Creating a kitchen that reflects the aesthetic of a period home whilst providing complementary modern day functions was the key to this Victorian home refurbishment.

The Brief

The owners were looking for an on-trend ‘wow-factor’ which would perfectly complement their Victorian property. The kitchen was to be ultra-modern, with state-of-the-art integrated appliances but to also have a warm homely feel and lots of practical storage solutions. A social element to suit a busy family lifestyle was also sought.

The Solution

Fitzroy furniture with its contemporary take on a traditional Shaker door was a wonderful choice for this Victorian property, and Jo recommended pairing gold accessories with the Copse Green painted cabinetry to create a cosy, welcoming feel.

Echoing an accent colour around the accessories and finer design details such as the glass splashback, handles and taps, created a sense of cohesion and luxury in this kitchen. The reflective gold splashback along the wall of the cooking zone opens up the room, making it look more spacious.

With the island design, Jo included seating for casual dining along with pendant lighting which created a focal point in the kitchen and softened the transition from working to living space. The addition of bar seating also invites the family to gather around the kitchen space.

Jo included floor to ceiling units to create lots of scope for clever storage solutions and make the most of the available space along the back wall.

The End Result

We were extremely happy with the whole process from start to finish. Everything ran like clockwork and our project manager Paul, and installation team, were all excellent! We were so impressed with the professional service and exceptional attention to detail.”
