A Remo Kitchen with Contemporary Textures

Thatcham

Creating a stunning, on-trend kitchen with an inclusive area for the family’s pets was the challenge when creating this kitchen space.

The clients were very keen to create a ‘wow’ factor in their new kitchen, similar in style to images they had seen in magazines. They were also looking to include versatile lighting which could be adapted for mood and functionality. It was a key requirement to include a usable space for the family’s pet dogs.

The client had bi-fold windows installed, which freed up space within the kitchen which Gina utilised with an island that took advantage of the view out into the garden.

The use of Remo furniture instantly creates a sleek look and paired with our new textured timber Alpina cabinets in Burnt Ash created an on-trend contemporary vibe. To bring the look together, Gina balanced the colour mix by including black glazed cabinets within the bank of white tall cabinets, along with Burnt Ash panels above the pet area which disguised a TV when not in use. The uniform placing of a flush black glass NEFF induction hob and pop up extractor further serves to harmonize the space. Using a sensitive colour mix across furniture and appliances is a great way to tie them together and allows functional items to sit discreetly within the space.

Gina blended furniture from our collection of Second Nature and German kitchens to achieve a highly contemporary look but at an affordable price.

A central support pillar had to be disguised, and this was incorporated into the bar by use of book-matched Statuario quartz worktop. The book-matched quartz was also used throughout the kitchen, including the island, to help create a sense of cohesion within the entire space. And with its intuitive operating, this made Siemens the perfect choice of appliances for busy, sociable cooking.

The area for the family’s pet dogs needed a lot of planning so that it would remain a functional area of the kitchen. The clients were keen that this area would be one their pets could call their own but would not stick out and ruin the look of the kitchen. Gina used colour-matched smooth panels inside the specially created bedding space so that dog hair wouldn’t stick to the textured Alpina veneer panels. This made it much easier to keep this area clean. Gina also added two usable drawers above as a special storage space for dog leads and toys.

This incredible space works on so many levels thanks to a careful exploration and consideration of the customer’s desires which informed a fluid, multifaceted design.
